CIRDA’s cross-cutting initiatives cuts across the range of our thematic program to tackle the underlying causes of poverty, GBV, and place special emphasis on working with young women & men, girls and boys to create lasting social change; with while harnessing and achieving gender equality, and ensuring peaceful coexistence, accountability/good governance at all levels.

CIRDA’s Education, Child Protection, WASH, FSL and Nutrition initiatives uses the convening power of sports/drama etc., as a vehicle to minimize the effects of poverty on youth while working to advance gender equality, develop life skills, promote health education, provide psychosocial support and create income-generating activities. Issues such as climate change adaptation, protection etc are mainstreamed in our programmes whenever practicable.

Specifically, our programming is grounded on our policies in regards to protection mainstreaming;

☑ Accountability to Affected people (AAP)

☑ Gender

☑ Protection of vulnerable populations

☑ HIV/Aids

☑ Environment, among others.
